Tatehiza no bu

1. Yokogumo This waza is about dealing with an opponent sitting in front of you. The meaning is the same as Mae.
2. Toraissoku An opponent in front of you tries to cut your right leg (from your right), but you parry hit cut and as he is falling backwards you cut him down from Jodan
3. Inazuma An opponent in front of you is about to attack you from Jodan. However, you anticipate his attack and before he can strike, you cut into both of his forearms. then immediately cut him down.
4. Ukigumo Your opponent is the second person sitting to your right. He comes to grab your tsuka, which you move out of his reach. Then you cut his chest, push him down to your right with your sword, and finally cut down into his body.
5. Oroshi As with Ukigumo, your opponent comes to grab your tsuka, the tip of which you stike against his face. Immediately, you cut his chest, push him down to your right with your sword, and finally cut down into his body from the Jodan position.
6. Iwanami An opponent to your left tries to gain control of your tsuka but before he can do so, you thrust your sword into his chest and thereby defeat him.
7. Urokogaeshi You defeat an opponent to your left by anticipating his attack and cutting before he can. The meaning of this waza is the same as Migi
8. Namigaeshi This waza is about dealing with an opponent behind you, so the meaning is the same as Ushiro
9. Takiotoshi An opponent, who is behind you grabs your kojiri from above, but you wrest it from his grip, thrust your sword into his chest and as he is falling backwards you cut him down.
10. Makko The main points are the same as Nukiuchi
